He is Risen! Now What?
Two thousand years ago, a quiet event unfolded in a sealed tomb. No audience, no spectacle — just the stillness of death interrupted. A man who had been crucified rose from the dead. It was not merely a return to life, but the beginning of something no one had seen before: the defeat of the grave. That moment split history in two. Yet today, as we endure war, political hostility, and economic uncertainty, one might ask — does our world live as if this victory still matters? Or have we allowed its meaning to fade beneath the weight of everything else demanding our attention?
Easter now arrives like clockwork. We go through the motions — church services, familiar hymns, and festivities including eggs and chocolate bunnies. It’s easy to settle into routine and let it be tucked away behind commercialisation. But the early disciples didn’t leave the empty tomb and return to life as usual. They were changed, disturbed, compelled, set in motion. Perhaps the real challenge today isn't whether we recall the Resurrection, but if we allow it to disrupt our habits and unsettle our comfort. This year can be different, if we make room to encounter Jesus again.
So now what? Easter isn’t a story to be observed from a distance; it’s a call to participation. Scripture reminds us that even when we were dead in our sins, God made us alive in Christ and lifted us up with Him (Eph 2:4–6). It is not only His triumph — it also marks a turning point for ourselves. If we have been raised, then our lives must show it. Not through dramatic gestures, but in daily faithfulness — in how we give and forgive, how we speak, how we behave. He is risen. Walk each day in the life He has already begun in you.
